Southwoods Receives National Recognition for Patient Experience
Boardman, Ohio (October 5, 2020) — Southwoods Health is pleased to announce The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods has once again earned the Pinnacle of Excellence Award® and the Guardian of Excellence Award® from Press Ganey for 2020. These awards represent an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the delivery of care.

The Pinnacle of Excellence Award® is highly competitive, specifically recognizing top-performing healthcare organizations nationwide who maintain consistently high levels of excellence for at least three consecutive years in patient experience.
The Guardian of Excellence Award® recognizes top-performing facilities that have consistently achieved the top percentile for performance in patient satisfaction. This award is a healthcare industry symbol of achievement — very few Press Ganey clients achieve this threshold and consistently maintain it for the one-year reporting period. Southwoods has received this award every year since its inception in 2013.
Southwoods is one of three hospitals in Ohio to receive the Pinnacle of Excellence Award®, one of sixteen to receive the Guardian of Excellence Award®, and one of only two hospitals to receive both awards.
